Here we have a real find. An as-new, un-smoked cased William Demuth Company "Triangle Bakelite" rendered in the extremely rare canted Dublin shape! The bowl itself is cut from flawless, fill-free Algerian briar. It sports a beautifully chamfered rim and is center-drilled just like the Charatan "Under Bore" pipes of the same period. It screws into its Bakelite base and is secured by a gold plated "O" ring. The stem is mounted on a sturdy bone tenon that shows perfect registration. The button itself features the orific smoke passage of the type found on amber stems of the late 19th & early 20th centuries. While somewhat worn on the outside the case has done its job & still snaps shut securely. Inside it is as new.

In short this pipe is a truly remarkable piece of pipe history in transition. It preserves many of the classical design values of the pre-WWI era while at the same time being one of the very first examples of what was to come over the next half-century; removable bowls, non-traditional materials & unconventional drillings. A rare opportunity.
